A while back, I heard that Lego had introduced a Frank Lloyd Wright series of Legos. Somehow, I managed to forget about it, until today. Suddenly, I remembered, and thought “I wonder what ever happened with the Frank Lloyd Wright legos.”
Since Google is my friend, I hopped on the computer and within seconds, I found exactly what I was looking for …
Not only does lego have a Frank Lloyd Wright series, they have an entire architectural series!
The prices don’t seem crazy to me, at $49.99 for a replica of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. However, it may be costly enough (and cool enough) that parents will want to keep them for themselves. After all, the kiddies have plenty of toys!
You can visit Lego’s website to purchase the architectural sets. Here’s a direct link that will take you to a search for “architecture” on their website.
Finally, if you don’t know who Frank Lloyd Wright is, you owe it to yourself to learn. He was an amazing architect, who had a profound influence on American architecture. He was recognized in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects as “the greatest American architect of all time.”
