Cool Kids Room Ideas
Who said that Kids rooms had to look like Walt Disney himself threw up all over the walls? While I don’t think that parents should discourage the creative outlet of kids, I don’t believe that rooms have to be completely covered and “young” looking either.
Here are a few websites that I found that really have some great Kid’s room ideas:
- DigsDigs.com – This page has a handful of AWESOME kids rooms. Let creativity reign!!

Flor carpet tiles - great for kids rooms!
If you are like me, I love my hardwood floors. Sometimes, I do wish we had some carpeted areas in our home (especially during the winter.) These carpet tiles from Flor give you the best of both worlds.
If you just want a hip, changeable area rug or to carpet a full room carpet tiles are a great invention. You can lay them your self – no installers needed. Also, if you happen to spill something on the rug, you can just change out the affected tiles.
This type floor covering comes in all styles, prints, and colors. You can check them out here.
Oh yea.. one more little item! These carpet tiles are made with renewable and recycled materials. Feel good and go green at the same time!

With a baby on the way, Laura and I have started the task of decorating the baby’s nursery.
We’re expecting a girl, but aren’t wanting the nursery to be to be too “girly.” Neither of us care too much for pastels, and we both think pink and blue are used way too much in kids’ rooms. Finally, we have a somewhat simplistic style, so the “themed” nursery look really isn’t too appealing to us either.
Initially, I didn’t think our preferences were all that unusual. However, during our planning phase, we scoured the Internet from top to bottom, looking for nursery decorating inspiration. Apparently, non-pastel, non-themed, simplistic decorating is something that just doesn’t exist much in nurseries.
We did finally luck up on a couple resources that had some pictures that actually inspired us. We’ve taken that inspiration, created our own game plan, and are currently working on our own, original nursery design. I’ll post pictures as soon as the nursery is complete.
Meanwhile, you can check out the following websites, which offer some tasteful nursery decorating inspiration:
